My grandfather was a pioneer in the pest control industry, establishing Gold Seal at Louisville, KY. in 1930. In the early days, pesticides were mostly botanical, and included arsenic, nicotine, strychnine, and pyrethrum. They were extremely effective, but also quite dangerous. Although costly, my grandfather used pyrethrum often because of it's safety value. In fact, pyrethrum is still used today.

By the time my father opened an office in Indianapolis, IN, in 1959, the industry had taken shape. And by the time the E.P.A. was founded the 1970s, Gold Seal had established itself as a leader in the industry, providing quality termite and pest control services throughout Indiana and Kentucky. I grew up in the family business, and in 1984, the torch was passed on to me. The industry was changing rapidly. Public concern over safety had created the motivation for research to kick into high gear. And Gold Seal was at the HEAD OF THE CLASS!

New ideas, new technology, new scientific breakthroughs were embraced, not feared. Commitment to succeed, commitments to superior customer service, commitment to safety concerns, and a commitment to value would continue to be our strengths, just like my father and grandfather before me.

History & Philosophy

Gold Seal Termite & Pest Control was formed in 1930 in Louisville, Kentucky and remains a family owned business. The company founder was Joseph Levin. Joseph's son, Maurice W. Levin came to Indianapolis to open Gold Seal as it is known today. In 1984, Maurice W. Levin retired and control of the company went to his son, Elia Levin. Elia Levin is currently the president of the company. The company prides itself on being a family business that continues to grow every year and remain successful. The current management team has 70 plus years in combined experience in the exterminating field. The company continues to grow every year due to the employees. We are a people business and our most important assets are our people. Employees at Gold Seal are part of a long, prosperous traditional family business and are treated as such. The company philosophy is simple, Service and Professionalism. As we continue to grow, our employees are the vehicles to the future simply by always portraying "Service and Professionalism."
